Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for heavy equipment? Join our team and keep the wheels turning! We’re looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic who thrives on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining lift trucks and other industrial machinery.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect lift trucks and identify repair needs with precision.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems to keep equipment running smoothly.
- Plan and coordinate major repairs, including estimating materials and time requirements.
- Repair gasoline, diesel, and propane-powered engines with confidence.
- Inspect, adjust, and replace mechanical components as needed.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot cooling, fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize performance and minimize downtime.
- Operate equipment for testing and diagnostics.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of lift truck maintenance, tools, and repair methods.
- Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems for gasoline and diesel engines.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, welding, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- MUST have your own hand tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Physical capability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
Education & Experience
- Vocational or formal training in hydraulics and diesel engine repair preferred.
- Mechanic Level 1: 2 years of experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics.
- Mechanic Level 2: 3 years of experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics. (Relevant schooling may substitute for some experience.)
