Senior Project Manager

Position Overview

Senior Project Managers are the cornerstone to the department and projects. They are expected to lead $1-5 M projects through independent choices that best serve a project’s budget, schedule, and stakeholder satisfaction. They must effectively lead and collaborate with external clients, sub-contractors, architects,

general contractors, and internal design/fabrication teams.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leader

  • Prepare teams with all materials and information needed to produce deliverables and final product on time and in budget.
  • Make timely decisions with consideration of all the necessary variables.
  • Familiar with industry processes and materials to make informed decisions.
  • Take initiative to further self-learning outside of department provided training.
  • Drive work forward through team building and delegation.

Conversation Facilitator

  • Inform both internal and external stakeholders on progress and make aware of project milestones they are held accountable to.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are confident that the knowledge they have regarding the project is timely and accurate.
  • Identify and adapt communication style to what is effective for others as well as what best fits a project’s need.

Project Oversight

  • Projects meet or exceed gross profit targets.
  • Projects are completed on time or early.
  • Deliverables or products are accurate, reflect all stakeholders’ decisions made, meet Taylor Studios’ quality standards, and satisfy the terms of the contract.
  • Team members, subcontractors, vendors and clients are held accountable by clear and concise communication.

Risk Management

  • Organize and plan projects to mitigate known risks and minimize unknownrisks.
  • Create and maintain documents so the status of the schedule and budget is always known. Project team and management are kept informed when a change to the project status is likely to occur.
  • Accurately and quickly assess what is important and what is not.
  • Continuously evaluate project priorities.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems without the need of directors’ involvement.

Guidance

  • Provide a clear division of roles/expectations and direct/communicate plans with Junior Project Manager when applicable.
  • Bring knowledge and skills to the department that contributes to overall function and growth of the company.


Experience

  • 5 years industry or related experience
  • Proven working experience in project management 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Development and tracking of budgets and schedules 
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints 
  • Able to travel 4 weeks out of the year


Bonus Skills: 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 
  • Working knowledge of MS Project software 
  • Experience working with Project Management software
  • Experience creating project budgets over $500k
  • Contract management and legal knowledge 


This is a full time, salaried position with benefits including a flexible schedule, 401(k), health insurance, and many opportunities for creative cross training. Candidates of any experience level with strong portfolios will be considered. Pay range is $70,000-$100,000 and commensurate with experience and auxiliary skills.
