We’re Looking for a Future Trial Lawyer
Taylor | Serbin Injury Lawyers represents people whose lives have been disrupted by serious injuries. We provide honest answers, steady guidance, and strong legal advocacy during some of our clients’ most difficult moments.
We are seeking an Associate Attorney who wants to become an exceptional plaintiff’s trial lawyer. This position is ideal for an attorney who recently passed the North Carolina Bar Exam and is beginning a legal career. No prior personal injury or litigation experience is necessary.
You will receive direct mentorship and practical training from experienced plaintiff’s trial attorneys. From the beginning, you will work directly with clients, participate in case strategy, and develop the skills needed to handle personal injury cases from intake through settlement or trial.
This is an opportunity to build a long-term career as a trial lawyer, rather than simply spending years working in the background on documents and research.
What You’ll Do
Working alongside experienced attorneys, you will gain practical experience in:
- Meeting with clients and evaluating potential cases
- Investigating liability and damages
- Developing case and litigation strategy
- Working with medical providers and expert witnesses
- Negotiating with insurance companies
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Taking and defending depositions as your experience develops
- Preparing for mediation
- Preparing cases for trial
- Appearing in court as your experience grows
- Managing cases from intake through resolution
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will:
- Be admitted to practice law in North Carolina, or have recently passed the North Carolina Bar Exam and be awaiting admission.
- Have a genuine interest in becoming a plaintiff’s personal injury trial lawyer.
- Possess strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Enjoy working directly with clients and helping guide them through difficult circumstances.
- Be dependable, organized, accountable, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities.
- Be humble enough to accept coaching and driven enough to continually improve.
- Believe that preparation, persistence, and hard work produce outstanding results.
Admission to the South Carolina Bar is a plus, but is not required.
No prior personal injury, litigation, or courtroom experience is necessary. We care far more about your character, work ethic, curiosity, judgment, and commitment to becoming an outstanding advocate than whether you have already practiced in this area.
