Senior Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our growing commercial construction team. The ideal candidate will come from a general contracting background with experience managing commercial construction projects, preferably within retail, big-box retail, industrial, or other large-scale commercial sectors. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage project teams, subcontractors, owners, and stakeholders while driving projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial construction projects concurrently from preconstruction through final closeout.
- Oversee project budgets ranging from $5M–$50M while maintaining cost control and profitability objectives.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are achieved.
- Lead project teams, including Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Maintain strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, procurement activities, and subcontractor agreements.
- Coordinate with field operations teams to ensure project execution aligns with budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
- Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to mitigate potential impacts.
- Lead project meetings, owner meetings, and internal reporting processes.
- Monitor project financials, forecasting, billing, and overall project performance.
- Support business development efforts and help foster long-term client relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of commercial construction project management experience with a General Contractor.
- Proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong background in commercial construction, with experience in retail, big-box retail, industrial, manufacturing, warehouse/distribution, or similar project types preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing multimillion-dollar projects and budgets ranging from $5M–$50M .
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, procurement, and project controls.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
