Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all safety programs across the manufacturing facility. This role ensures full compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on manufacturing experience, a proven background in safety leadership, and strong skills in compliance documentation, audits, and training.

Reports To: Plant Manager / General Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership & Compliance
- Lead all safety initiatives across the manufacturing plant, ensuring a proactive safety culture.
- Maintain full compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular facility inspections, hazard assessments, and job‑specific risk analyses.
- Manage incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors.
Training & Employee Engagement
- Develop and deliver safety training programs, including new‑hire orientation, annual refreshers, and job‑specific instruction.
- Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date safety documentation, including OSHA logs, training records, SDS files, and inspection reports.
- Prepare monthly safety metrics, trend analyses, and executive‑level reporting.
- Oversee incident reporting, workers’ compensation documentation, and return‑to‑work coordination.
Program Development
- Lead the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and standard work instructions.
- Manage emergency response planning, evacuation procedures, and drills.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and facility layout to reduce risk.

Qualifications:
Required
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2 years in a safety‑focused role (Safety Coordinator, Safety Specialist, EHS Technician, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry Standards.
- Demonstrated experience with safety documentation, audits, and compliance reporting.
- Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence teams and drive a positive safety culture.
Preferred
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification or higher.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement programs.
- First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification.
- Experience with workers’ compensation case management.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to walk the production floor, climb stairs, and access elevated or confined areas as needed.
- Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
