Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers on long-distance routes, including refrigerated and dry van 53’ trailers while following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries across diverse routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues and proper load securement
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery schedules and address any route or delivery issues promptly
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record and at least 2 years of commercial truck driving experience
- Proven experience with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, including route planning and navigation skills using GPS navigation systems
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for trucking operations
- Experience with different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialty equipment is preferred
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence
