BESS Sales Manager - West

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a BESS Sales Manager in the West Coast (Only in Arizona or Iowa) for a global leader in advanced battery technology, the company designs, manufactures, and services innovative energy storage solutions for industrial and utility applications. With over 100 years of experience, it delivers reliable battery systems that support critical power, renewable energy, transportation, and infrastructure projects worldwide.

The Sales Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing customers, leading the sales process from business development through contract negotiation while providing technical and commercial support throughout the customer lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to generate new business opportunities and grow market share within the assigned territory.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities with utilities, IPPs, developers, EPCs, engineering consultants, FEED firms, and industrial customers.
• Deliver technical and commercial presentations that clearly communicate the value of energy storage solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively developing new client partnerships through networking, referrals, and cold outreach.
• Conduct customer needs assessments and cost-benefit analyses to recommend the most appropriate technical solutions.
• Prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle to successful contract execution.
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, product management, and operations teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities and support product development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports using CRM tools.
• Resolve customer issues promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term account growth.
• Continuously improve sales performance through market feedback, customer insights, and collaboration with internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of B2B outside sales experience selling technical solutions within the power generation, utilities, renewable energy, or battery energy storage (BESS) industries.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets and revenue growth objectives.
• Strong understanding of the utility-scale power and energy storage market.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and organized, with strong time management abilities.
• Ability to tailor technical and commercial presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
