Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and lead a team of 1099 courier drivers. This role is responsible for managing inbound shipments, coordinating sorting and scanning operations, and ensuring all deliveries are completed efficiently and on time. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, strong leader, and team player who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field OR equivalent relevant operations or logistics management experience
- Previous experience managing courier drivers, delivery teams, or independent contractors preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
Key Responsibilities
- Receive daily inbound shipments and oversee the unloading of delivery trucks
- Lead and direct courier drivers through efficient sorting and scanning of routes
- Ensure all routes are accurately sorted and scanned within required timeframes
- Supervise and support a team of 1099 courier drivers to maintain operational efficiency
- Monitor delivery performance to ensure routes are completed proficiently, accurately, and on schedule
- Address operational challenges and resolve delivery or route issues promptly
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service
- Communicate expectations clearly and work closely with drivers and other team members
- Track operational performance and report results as needed
