What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Supervisor position at Taylor Farms?
Job Summary:
A Transportation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all loads are delivered safely and on time. Their responsibilities also include Invoicing the product so all documents are in the driver’s possession at time of departure.
Essential Functions (These are not intended to be all inclusive and are subject to changes):
- Must adhere to the following policies: Employee Safety, Food Safety and all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Plan work assignments and establish schedules to ensure that the drivers are on time and that transportation goals and expectations are met
- Interpret transportation regulations, shipping orders, safety regulations, and TFSW policies and procedures for workers
- Tracking loads to ensure on time delivery and communicate appropriately with the customers and other personnel to exchange information and resolve problems
- Verify that the drivers have all the tools and documents needed to successfully complete their trips
- Monitor reports, time records, material use, and review DVIR’s to ensure that the equipment is maintained, and preventative maintenance is scheduled
- Explain and demonstrate work tasks to new employees and assign training tasks to experienced employees
- Recommend, implement, and maintain measures to improve employee motivation, equipment performance, work methods and customer services
- Enforce safety rules and ensure all drivers are operating within the guidelines of the FMCSA, DOT and GMP’s and properly report work-related accidents and incidents
- Having the invoicing done on time and accurately
- All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Transportation Industry
- Must have ability to make decisions and solve problems
- Must have a working knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Excel and Word
- Must be knowledgeable in operating ERP systems such as Microsoft D365.
- Have the ability to work any shift as needed
- Long periods of sitting, standing, and exposure to heat and cold, can be expected
- Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing and apply principles of good customer service to supervisors, peers, subordinates, and clients
Salary : $50,000 - $56,000
