We’re looking for an experienced CNC Operator to join our team and support the production of high‑quality fabricated components for armored steel applications. If you have strong CNC press brake or CNC laser/water‑jet experience—and enjoy working in a fast‑paced fabrication environment—we want to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC press brakes to form steel components per engineering specifications
- Operate CNC laser/water‑cutting equipment to cut and prepare parts for assembly
- Select tooling, fixtures, and programs to meet production requirements
- Perform first‑article and in‑process inspections to ensure accuracy and quality
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions
- Maintain material identification and traceability for armored plate
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make minor adjustments as needed
- Assist with programming and operating robotic welding systems (preferred)
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize manufacturing processes
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and proper material handling
- Perform routine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus
- 2 years of CNC machine operation experience (press brake, laser, water‑jet, plasma, milling, or turning)
- Proficiency with CNC press brakes and laser/water‑cutting systems
- Familiarity with G-code and CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, etc.)
- Ability to read blueprints and GD\&T symbols
- Skilled with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming CNC press brakes or robotic weld cells
- Background in armored steel fabrication or defense manufacturing
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems (Mastercam, Fusion 360)
Work Environment
- Fabrication shop setting with noise, dust, and moving equipment
- PPE required, strict adherence to safety protocols
- Overtime or weekend work may be needed depending on production demand
