Responsibilities:
- Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database
- Construct data accumulation systems
- Determine fixed costs (e.g. salaries, rent and insurance)
- Plan and record variable costs (e.g. purchases of raw material and operations costs)
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
- Prepare budgeting reports (for the company and for each department)
- Analyze and report profit margins
- Prepare cost forecasts
- Assisting in month-end and year-end closing
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions
- Analyze job costing
- Review job costings for accuracy
- Calculate hourly rates of operating equipment
- Assist in preparation for Capital Budgets
- Inform management of cost saving opportunities
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or university with at least two years related experience preferably in a job costing environment; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have proficiency with various software applications programs including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to manage relationships with employees and staff within the organization.
- Ability to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to review financial data and produce reports and statements that meet company standards.
- Working knowledge of SAGE/MAS 90 software (Preferred)
