Taylor County is currently seeking qualified applicants for Corrections Officers at the Taylor County Jail.
All qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must have the ability to work in a very stressful environment and have a good moral character.
Applicants must be in good physical shape and must pass a physical exam and drug screening prior to employment.
Qualified applicants will also be subject to an extensive criminal history and background investigation.
Must be a U.S. citizen and have a valid Driver License.

Starting Salary Effective 10/1/2025: $56,030.72 per year benefits
: 100% county-paid employee medical and dental insurance, paid life and disability insurance, retirement, and paid vacation/sick time.
Paper applications will also be accepted in the Human Resources/Risk Management Office, Taylor County Courthouse, 301 Oak Street, Suite 120, until the position is filled. HR office hours are 7:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Thursday and 7:30 am – 12:00 pm Friday. The HR office is closed at 12:00 pm for the day each Friday.
