Work Location & Schedule
This is a hybrid position based in our Augusta, GA office. Team members are expected to work on-site two days per week and remotely three days per week. This schedule supports collaboration while offering flexibility and work-life balance.
About the Role
TaxSlayer is seeking a Communications Intern to join our Creative Services team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about brand storytelling, customer engagement, and strategic messaging.
As a Communications Intern, youll help manage our brand reputation through clear, consistent communication across social media and other customer touchpoints. Youll play a key role in shaping TaxSlayers social media presence by actively listening, monitoring, and responding to customer interactions across all platforms.
Youll also contribute to content creation for social media and blog posts, helping define our brand voice and engage our audience in meaningful ways. Curiosity for emerging trends and a commitment to customer care are essential as we serve millions of taxpayers nationwide.
What Youll Be Doing
- Monitor all TaxSlayer social media accounts: Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, Trustpilot, LinkedIn, Google Reviews, Reddit, and TikTok
- Create regular reports to identify common themes and trends
- Respond to customer interactions in alignment with our brand voice and values
- Monitor and respond to online reviews using established guidelines
- Enhance brand reputation through thoughtful social media engagement
- Collaborate with content designers to support broader brand and content strategies
- Conduct social media audits and monitor competitor activity to identify trends
- Assist with day-to-day tasks and other duties as assigned
Must-Have Skills & Experience
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, PR, Journalism, Creative Writing, Communications, or a related field from an accredited university
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a passion for storytelling
- Excellent attention to detail and eagerness to learn
- Proactive, service-oriented mindset
- Operates with a newsroom mentality
- Proficient in major social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Well-organized and self-motivated
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with Sprout Social is a plus
