Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file individual tax returns (1040 series) and amended returns daily, tackling a high-volume mix of cases from moderate to advanced complexity
- Excel at sophisticated individual returns, including multi-state filings, self-employment income (Schedule C), rental properties (Schedule E), and itemized deductions.
- Optimize every return to unlock maximum deductions, credits, and refunds while ensuring ironclad compliance
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and tax research to spot major savings opportunities and resolve tricky compliance issues
- Deliver clear, confident guidance to clients on tax strategies, rules, and outcomes
- Stay ahead of evolving federal, state, and local tax changes and apply them directly to client work
Qualifications
- 1 years of proven experience preparing individual tax returns, with regular hands-on work on amended returns and varying complexity (multi-state, self-employment, rentals, itemized deductions, etc.)
- Solid command of individual tax topics, schedules, and advanced scenarios
- Proficiency in accounting/tax software (ProSeries is a plus!)
- Sharp analytical mindset and laser-focused attention to detail
- Thrives under pressure with excellent deadline management during busy seasons
- Strong communication skills to break down complex tax info for clients
- Enthusiasm for building client relationships and supporting sales/retention
- Required: Active CTEC certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) license, valid PTIN, and current CTEC registration
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $27–$30/hr uncapped commissions earned on returns prepared
