The Role
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller with 6 years of experience to lead our accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Financial Services or the Solar/Renewable Energy industry, overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Take direct ownership of bookkeeping, payments (A/P), and the month-end/year-end closing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Reporting: Prepare and publish monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and specialized solar asset reports.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level knowledge of QuickBooks and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Industry: Proven background in Financial Services (fund accounting) and/or Solar Energy (ITC credits, project accounting) is highly preferred.
- Education/Certification: CPA or CMA is preferred (not required). Extensive experience in closing the books and complex financial consolidation is essential. Bachelors or Masters in accounting.
