Our Las Cruces, New Mexico office is seeking a Pre-Litigation Medical Records Clerk to support early case development and help resolve cases efficiently before litigation.
What You’ll Do
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding treatment status and provider information
- Request, track, and obtain medical and billing records from healthcare providers
- Follow up persistently with providers to ensure timely receipt of records and affidavits
- Review records for completeness, accuracy, and HIPAA compliance
- Organize and maintain medical and billing files in a clear, accessible format
- Verify that all records are properly authenticated with required affidavits
- Coordinate with medical providers and staff to resolve discrepancies or missing documentation
- Maintain detailed notes and updates within the case management system
What We’re Looking For
- 1 year of office experience (legal, medical, or insurance preferred)
- Experience requesting or handling medical and billing records strongly preferred
- Familiarity with personal injury pre-litigation processes is a plus
- Ability to understand basic medical terminology and billing statements
- Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and confidentiality standards
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow up consistently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional communication skills when working with clients and providers
- Typing speed of 40 WPM
