Supervisor

Summary

The Infrastructure Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all field activities related to infrastructure construction, maintenance, and installation projects. This position supervises crews, ensures work is completed safely and efficiently, maintains quality standards, and serves as the primary liaison between field personnel, project management, subcontractors, and clients. The Infrastructure Supervisor is responsible for ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure construction, civil construction, utility installation, industrial construction, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, utility systems, site development, and infrastructure installation practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours as project demands require.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of site development, underground utilities, civil construction, grading, drainage, and infrastructure systems.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, project plans, and engineering specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and construction management software.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage labor, equipment, and material resources efficiently.
  • Capable of working in high-pressure environments while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of infrastructure crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules and productivity to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and work plans with field personnel.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and site inspections.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities to maximize efficiency.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve field issues that may impact project schedules or budgets.
  • Maintain accurate records including daily reports, equipment utilization, manpower logs, and project documentation.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and resource needs to Project Managers and Operations leadership.
  • Assist with workforce planning, employee development, coaching, and performance management.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and provide field expertise during project execution.
  • Monitor project costs and assist with budget management efforts.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support company initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, reach, climb, balance, push, and pull while performing pipefitting activities.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and handle heavier piping materials, tools, or equipment using appropriate assistance or material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work from scaffolds, elevated work platforms, pipe racks, and other industrial work areas as required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements associated with measuring, layout, fitting, bolting, tool use, and material handling.
  • Ability to work on uneven, muddy, rocky, or otherwise variable walking and working surfaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, cold, rain, wind, and other weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to:
  • hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, steel-toed footwear, FR clothing, fall protection, and other project-specific PPE.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed at active industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, and customer facilities.
  • Work may be performed in refinery, petrochemical, chemical, LNG, power generation, manufacturing, and other heavy industrial environments.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, dust, dirt, fumes, moving equipment, piping systems, and other conditions typical of industrial construction and maintenance.
  • Work may be performed around operating process units, piping systems, elevated work areas, excavations, structures, mobile equipment, and ongoing construction or maintenance activities.
  • Work may require the use of ladders, scaffolds, elevated work platforms, and fall-protection systems.
