EMPLOYER: The Inn at Taughannock Falls, a luxury boutique hotel, restaurant, and event destination location on Cayuga Lake near Ithaca NY and is currently seeking a Front Desk Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The company engages several Front desk managers who manage the front desk operation from 7AM to 11:30PM daily, in season. Hours of operation reduce in the off-season.
The employee is our point person who interfaces with hotel guests as they check in or out in addition to answering the phone to answer questions and book hotel or dinner reservations.
Responsibilities include interfacing with the Housekeeping Department, and the Continental Breakfast Program.
This role has enormous growth, and the owner seeks to hire individuals who has aspirations to becoming an assistant General Manager with the goal of taking over the role of General manager in the future. Seeking individuals with strong people skills, knowledge of the area and leadership abilities.
Specific Responsibilities: Front Desk Managers must be fully knowledgeable of all aspects of the hotel rooms, associated policies,and are prolific in completing all key tasks in terms of: booking or canceling guest reservations, responding to and organizing guest/public correspondence, communicating information effectively to other departments, maintaining the atmosphere and presentation of the Victorian Inn, and providing luxury customer service.
Candidates must have skills in computer operation and will need to operate software programs used by the front desk, in particular endeavoring to become an expert in the function and operation of the RMS cloud-based software.
Prepare weekly schedules for housekeeping staff according to needs and labor allotment. Oversee daily housekeeping assignments.
Have bartending skills to provide beverage throughout the day when Bartenders are not on duty.
Knowledge of the area and history of the hotel to be able to share that information daily with our hotel and restaurant customers in conversation.

STARTING SALARY: $20 - $25 per hour, based on prior work experience.
