What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift/12HR Shift position at Taubensee Steel & Wire Co.?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handler is responsible for demonstrating safe and efficient operation of a forklift and understanding all aspects concerning the operation of the equipment including preventative maintenance.
SHIFT
2nd Shift (2PM- 10PM)
12HR DAY SHIFT (6AM - 6PM)
12HR NIGHT SHIFT (6PM-6AM)
**Must be flexible on the shift. Not a swing shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
· Learns and understands the operating functions of the forklift
· Pre-stages and/or loads racks for immediate pickling or production.
· Loads and unloads all departmental machines via forklift in a timely manner to ensure maximum productivity.
· Unloads and tags any product that was left from previous shifts or that arrive on current shift.
· Adheres to all TSW safety procedures and wears all safety equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or equivalent education required
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
· 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or related area.
· Previous forklift experience required
· Willing and able to work overtime as needed
· Basic math skills
· Previous data/computer entry
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
· Ability to withstand physical demands such as standing, climbing, kneeling and/or crawling
· Ability to work in areas of fluctuating temperatures
