responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the preparation and review of a diverse portfolio encompassing a broad range of client types including individuals, corporations, and fiduciaries.
• Manage all aspects of the tax compliance lifecycle, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments.
• Maintain a current knowledge of evolving tax regulations and provide expert guidance on tax audit and assurance matters.
• Develop and implement comprehensive tax documentation and internal process controls to mitigate global tax risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct in-depth tax research on complex issues, analyzing financial statements, and leveraging technology to optimize tax processes and reporting workflows.
• Cultivate and maintain robust client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on complex tax strategies and planning engagements.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff, supervising their work, and fostering professional growth within the tax department.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding service offerings for the existing client base.

qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
• An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or management role is required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
• Extensive experience with tax compliance, including the preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, and fiduciaries.
• Proven ability in strategic tax planning, tax provision, and risk management.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex tax concepts to clients and team members.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to navigate complex tax issues and develop innovative solutions.
