Randstad is seeking an Controller-level Consultant to provide strategic oversight and hands-on management for our clients corporate accounting department of 14 staff members. This high-impact, interim role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of all financial operations, optimizing processes, and providing key strategic financial insights to executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate and timely completion of all monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring the production of reliable balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Directly supervise and mentor a team of 14 accounting professionals, and managers.
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, analyzing and reporting on variances to assist management in making informed decisions.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and financial regulations and manage the coordination and completion of annual financial audits.
- Evaluate current accounting operations and recommend/implement process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities to drive efficiency and scalability.
- Serve as the in-house expert on technical accounting matters, researching and resolving complex accounting issues and staying abreast of the latest industry trends and regulations.
- Develop, document, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; an MBA or Master's degree in Finance is preferred.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven experience in change management, project management, and adaptability to new environments and challenges.
