What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cooks - Tatte Charles St (CAFÉ REOPENING) position at Tatte Bakery & Café?
Prep Cooks at Tatte are passionate about food and genuine hospitality. Our Back of House team prepares all dishes from scratch with an uncompromising commitment to quality and craftsmanship while following standardized recipes and food safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow daily prep lists created by the Chef or kitchen leadership
- Label, organize, and stock all cooking ingredients
- Complete assigned prep tasks accurately and efficiently
- Wash, chop, sort, and prepare fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients
- Measure ingredients according to standardized recipes
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and nutrition standards
- Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate replenishment needs
- Learn and apply Tatte's cooking methods and techniques
- Properly store food items and maintain organized storage areas
- Monitor food and cooling room temperatures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
- Assist chefs with food preparation and other kitchen tasks as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Desire to help where needed and work as part of a team
- Passion for cooking with a keen eye for freshness, quality, and cleanliness
- Commitment to living Tatte's core values and delivering exceptional hospitality
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred but not required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to grasp and reach overhead
- Ability to lift, move, and carry 50 pounds or more
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for 8 or more hours per shift
