Position Overview
Tatra Solutions is seeking a Tactical Watercraft Maintenance Specialist to provide full-time technical and operational support to the U.S. Marine Corps 4th Reconnaissance Battalion. This role supports amphibious operations by maintaining, repairing, and advising on a variety of military watercraft and associated equipment across multiple geographically dispersed locations.
The ideal candidate has experience maintaining military marine systems, combined with the ability to support training, maintenance planning, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and inspection of small craft and marine propulsion systems, including CRRC, RHIB, and associated engines
- Support preventative maintenance scheduling, inventory control, and equipment readiness tracking
- Develop and deliver maintenance and operational training to unit personnel (formal and informal instruction)
- Prepare daily/weekly readiness reports, operational briefs, and technical documentation
- Provide technical advisement on amphibious operations, maintenance strategies, and equipment employment
- Maintain boat locker publications, technical manuals, and maintenance records in compliance with USMC standards
- Support field operations and training exercises, including on-site maintenance at various locations
- Travel periodically to multiple Marine Corps sites in support of operational requirements
Certifications (Required or Ability to Obtain)
- Evinrude E-TEC outboard systems
- USMC Multi-Fuel Engine systems
- Mercury Verado engines
- CRRC / E-CRRC maintenance
- RHIB, Dive Boat, or Open Water Safety Craft coxswain qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in military or commercial marine maintenance
- Experience with:
- Combat Rubber Reconnaissance Craft (CRRC)
- Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB)
- Military outboard engines (Evinrude, Mercury, multi-fuel systems)
- Prior experience supporting Marine Corps or DoD operations
- Background in maintenance quality control and training instruction
- Familiarity with Marine Corps maintenance and logistics programs (MIMMS, GEMP, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience with GCSS (Global Combat Support System) or similar maintenance system
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Work Schedule & Travel
- Full-time: 40 hours per week (0730–1630)
- Travel required to multiple CONUS and OCONUS (Hawaii) locations (estimated semi-annual or as mission dictates)
