Custodian (220 Day Contract)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Sweep, mop and vacuum hallways, stairs, classrooms, gyms and office spaces
• Clean and sanitize restrooms including toilets, sinks, fixtures, tile, mirrors and floors
• Wash windows and clean window sills as needed
• Scrub, strip and wax floors as scheduled
• Empty classroom and office trash containers at least daily
• Keep school grounds free from litter
• Sweep exterior walkways and school entrances
• Maintain school building, performing minor maintenance work as needed such as painting, changing lightbulbs, repairing furniture, loading/unloading equipment and supplies, etc.
• Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each day and ensuring all doors and windows are secure
• Complete all summer work requirements
• Clean, maintain and properly store all tools, supplies and equipment
• Notify principal of damage to school property or maintenance needs
• Move furniture or other equipment for school meetings or events
• Cover for food service staff as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

• High school diploma or GED
• Clean background checks

Physical requirements*

• Be able to stand, walk and reach for extended periods of time
• Be able to stoop, kneel, bend and crouch
• Be able to reach with hands and arms overhead
• Be able to climb and balance
• Be able to lift (<50lbs)
• Be able to work effectively with hand tools and other motorized equipment
• Possible exposure to chemicals requiring special clothing or safety equipment
• Be outside in all weather conditions to complete jobs

Contract: 220 days is a full contract for this position. Contract will be prorated for the 25-26 school year based on days worked.

Salary : $32,648 - $39,794
