Position Summary:
Tate Computer Systems, Inc. is seeking a Managed Hardware Supervisor to lead our hardware support team in delivering exceptional service and repair of computers, accessories, and associated peripherals. This hands-on leadership role oversees the daily operations of our hardware support team and ensures compliance with all Authorized Apple Support Technician Lab requirements.
The ideal candidate is an experienced technician and team leader who is passionate about high-quality service, well-versed in Apple and PC systems, and committed to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the hardware support team in the repair and servicing of customer devices with precision and care.
- Ensure compliance with Apple’s Authorized Support Technician Lab standards and other relevant industry protocols.
- Perform technical tasks including software restoration, device imaging, hardware installation and repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain service documentation, inventory records, and assist with larger IT projects as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work and provide training and feedback to technicians.
- Support and participate in the design, configuration, and maintenance of functional network environments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of hands-on technical experience, preferably in Apple environments.
- Experience with Apple Remote Desktop, Mac OS, MS Office for Mac, and Mac imaging solutions.
- Certifications such as Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT), Apple Certified iOS Technician (ACiT), and CompTIA A preferred. The required Apple certification must be obtained within four (4) months of the employee’s hire date.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven leadership skills to train, coach, and supervise technical staff.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough inspections.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal team coordination and reporting to management.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills for evaluating tools, systems, and repairs.
- Solid understanding of network wiring, TCP-IP, and related infrastructure.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand, sit, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
- Local travel required to remote project and office sites.
- Normal hearing and vision ranges required; must have the ability to adjust visual focus as needed.
