Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (DRE) with strong experience in switch design and electromechanical components within the automotive domain. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end development of electrical switches and switch modules, from concept through production launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical hardware design and release of switches and switch modules (concept to production launch)
- Develop technical specifications in collaboration with cross-functional teams including design, purchasing, and finance
- Manage supplier deliverables ensuring cost, quality, and timing targets are met
- Define and execute design verification and validation (DV/PV) plans with suppliers
- Ensure issues are resolved before program sign-off milestones
- Define electrical interfaces aligned with vehicle EE architecture, power distribution, grounding, diagnostics, and network requirements
- Collaborate with software/system teams on logic, diagnostics, and fault handling
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and U.S. regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvements focused on customer/consumer experience
- Support cross-functional collaboration across engineering and design teams
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
- 10 years of experience in electromechanical components, with a strong focus on switch design
- Experience across full product lifecycle: design, validation, and launch
- Strong expertise in HMI systems, switches, and electromechanical components
- Knowledge of diagnostics, DTCs, and fault handling
- Experience with CAE tools or simulation environments
- Strong understanding of CMF (Color, Material, Finish) and industrial design integration
- Experience with switch haptics and mechanical design
- Proven supplier management experience (Tier 1 and beyond)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OEM standards/processes
- Exposure to light and color harmony design considerations
