Job Title: NC Programmer – Edgecam
Role: Permanent / On Contract
Location: Ogden, UT (On-site)
Job Summary: -
We are seeking a highly skilled and self‑driven Onsite NC Programming Lead to support end‑to‑end NC programming and machining prove‑out activities on the shop floor. This role requires deep hands‑on experience in 3‑axis to 5‑axis CNC machining, Edgecam programming, G-Code simulation verification with NC Simul, fixture validation, real‑time prove‑out, and FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) requirements.
The ideal candidate should be confident in leading onsite activities, collaborating with customers, guiding offshore teams, and driving machining quality and productivity with minimal supervision.
Experience and Qualification: -
· 6–10 years of experience as a CNC/NC Programmer in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
· Strong shop‑floor exposure with on machine prove-out exposure.
· Proficiency in Edgecam & NC Simul is mandatory; experience with additional CAM tools is a plus.
· Prior experience working onsite with customers or in customer‑facing technical roles.
· Strong understanding of 3-axis, and 5-axis DMG MORI machines (highly preferred).
· Associate degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/ Manufacturing or equivalent hands‑on experience.
Key Responsibilities: -
· Lead onsite NC program prove‑out and first‑article machining activities.
· Develop, validate, and optimize 3‑axis to 5‑axis NC programs in Edgecam.
· Perform G‑code verification, toolpath optimization, and machine troubleshooting.
· Conduct G Code Machine simulations in NC Simul and ensure collision‑free machining.
· Review, design, and validate fixtures with practical machining considerations.
· Ensure FAIR readiness, dimensional compliance, and machining quality.
· Coordinate with offshore programming teams and provide technical guidance.
· Engage in direct customer communication, updates, and technical discussions.
· Drive cycle‑time, tool life, and quality improvements during prove‑outs.
· Take ownership of project execution with a self‑driven, proactive mindset.
Skills & Competencies: -
· Advanced NC programming expertise with Edgecam & NC Simul.
· In-depth machining knowledge: CNC controllers, tooling, work‑holding, cutting parameters, and proven trial-run capability.
· Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities during prove‑out.
· Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and customer‑handling skills.
· High energy, dynamic mindset, and capable of working independently.
· Postprocessor development is added advantage.
Physical requirements: -
· Ability to stand, bend, push, and pull for long periods during machine prove‑out.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Must safely work around heavy machinery and follow all shop-floor safety protocols.
Pay: $60.45 - $65.28 per hour
