The Senior / Staff / Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) is a technical and operational leader responsible for delivering complex, high‑volume consumer electronics programs from concept through mass production. This role is the primary bridge between customers and India‑based manufacturing and engineering teams, accountable for execution excellence across SMT, System/FATP, NPI, and global production ramps.
This position operates with high autonomy, drives cross‑organizational alignment, mentors TPMs and engineers, and influences factory and product strategy. The role requires travel to India 3–4 times per year and approximately 15% overall domestic and international travel.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Customer Leadership
- Serve as the single‑threaded owner for end‑to‑end program execution
- Lead executive‑level customer communications, escalations, and trade‑off decisions
- Own program plans, critical paths, dependency management, and risk/MIL governance
- Drive program alignment across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and test
Manufacturing & NPI Execution (India‑Based)
- Lead SMT and System/FATP NPI builds and production ramps in India
- Ensure factory readiness across BOMs, material flow, capacity, labor, tooling, fixtures, and testing
- Drive resolution of complex build, yield, capacity, and schedule challenges
- Partner with factory leadership on capacity expansion and long‑term scaling plans
Process, Quality & Reliability Ownership
- Drive DFM/DFA strategy, manufacturability trade‑offs, and design readiness reviews
- Own yield, OEE, scrap, and defect reduction strategies across builds
- Lead FAI validation, RCA execution, and systemic corrective action closure
- Own REL testing scope, execution alignment, and results communication
Execution Cadence & Operational Excellence
- Establish and lead BOD/EOD, build reviews, and executive operating rhythms
- Ensure readiness for packaging, OQC, customer shipment, and ramp transitions
- Champion operational rigor, documentation, and continuous improvement across programs
Essential Attributes
- Own multiple concurrent programs or a flagship, high‑complexity product line
- Operate as a trusted customer counterpart and internal executive escalation owner
- Set execution standards, operating cadence, and best practices across factories
- Mentor and guide junior TPMs and cross‑functional leaders
- Influence manufacturing strategy, factory readiness models, and ramp frameworks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field
- 10 years of experience launching complex, high‑volume consumer electronics products
- Proven ownership of SMT, FATP, NPI, and global production ramps
- Demonstrated success working with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Strong background in manufacturing systems, quality, and factory execution
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills under ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
- Hindi language capability
- Experience influencing factory or product strategy at scale
- PMP, Six Sigma, or equivalent program/process certification
- Prior experience mentoring TPMs or leading TPM communities of practice
Salary : $170,000 - $220,000
