Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef that will deliver exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management and a deep understanding of the food industry, particularly within restaurant settings. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food production, and managing the culinary team to create innovative dishes that delight our guests.

Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, develop and enhance menu items by incorporating innovative vegan, vegetarian and traditional Caribbean flavors.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to optimize profitability.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items that reflect current culinary trends.
  • Coordinate catering services for special events or private functions as needed.
  • Monitor food quality during preparation and service to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to showcase menu items through social media and events.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Skills

  • Strong background in food service management with experience in the restaurant industry.
  • Proficient in kitchen management practices, including food production techniques and ServSafe safety protocols.
  • Expertise in culinary arts with a passion for creating fine dining experiences.
  • Excellent shift management skills to effectively lead the kitchen team during busy periods.
  • Experience in catering services is a plus, with the ability to adapt menus for various events.
  • Strong team management abilities to inspire and motivate staff towards achieving common goals.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail in food presentation and flavor combinations.
