We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to help grow our machining division from both a programming and operational standpoint.

Position Summary

TasQuantum LLC is seeking an experienced CAM Programmer / Machine Operator responsible for creating, simulating, and optimizing CNC toolpaths using Fusion 360 CAM software while also setting up and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision components. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong machining knowledge, programming experience, and a commitment to producing high-quality work efficiently and safely.

Key ResponsibilitiesCNC Programming

  • Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs (G-code) using Fusion 360 CAD/CAM software.
  • Create toolpaths for 2–4 axis CNC mills and lathes.
  • Simulate machining operations and verify program accuracy before production.
  • Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs as needed to improve performance and efficiency.

Machine Setup & Operation

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
  • Load raw materials, install tooling, and prepare machines for production runs.
  • Read and interpret CAD models, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.

Tooling & Process Optimization

  • Select cutting tools, workholding, feeds, and speeds appropriate for various materials and operations.
  • Optimize cycle times and machining strategies to improve productivity and reduce tooling costs.
  • Recommend process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment.
  • Ensure parts meet engineering specifications and GD&T requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

  • Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, or programming issues.
  • Assist with routine machine maintenance and upkeep.
  • Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.

Documentation

  • Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and revision-controlled CNC programs.
  • Document process improvements and production notes as needed.

Qualifications & SkillsRequired Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of CAD/CAM programming experience.
  • Experience programming with Fusion 360 CAM software.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of G-code programming and editing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and machining tolerances.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes.
  • Knowledge of tooling, workholding, feeds/speeds, and material properties.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required with above experience .
  • Technical certification or degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred.
