What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer Intern position at Taskr?
We’re building a platform that makes it insanely easy for people to get real-world help, from lawn care and furniture assembly to quick errands and one-off tasks, with trusted helpers in their local area.
Our goal is simple: turn “I wish someone could just do this for me” into a few taps on a phone. Fast, transparent, and community-driven.
We’re an early-stage, privately held startup, and you’d be joining at a time where your work directly shapes the product, the tech, and the user experience from the ground up.
Role DescriptionWe’re looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer who enjoys building end-to-end features and shipping quickly. You’ll work across backend and frontend to turn ideas into a smooth, reliable product.
This position is equity-based, with equity vesting over time. If you’re interested in the details of the compensation structure or have specific questions about the role, please reach out, and we’ll be happy to discuss.
You will:
- Build and maintain backend APIs and services using Python
- Develop responsive, clean UIs with React and related front-end tech
- Design and work with databases (schema design, queries, performance)
- Implement core flows: signup/login, profiles, messaging, jobs, payments, ratings, notifications
- Collaborate with the team on architecture, roadmap, and product decisions
- Debug, test, and iterate based on real user feedback
You should have:
- Solid experience with Python for backend development
- Strong React skills (plus JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
- Experience working with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
- Comfort building and consuming APIs
- Good Git habits and experience in a shared codebase
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well in a small, collaborative team
Nice to have:
- Experience with payments, authentication, or marketplace-style products
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) or Docker
- Experience with real-time features (WebSockets, push notifications, etc.)
- If you like building from scratch, owning meaningful features, and helping create something people will use in their everyday lives, we’d love to hear from you.
