About the Role

The Customer Service Engineer plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction by performing on-site furniture repairs and restoration services. This includes working with case goods, leather, and upholstery products to resolve minor to moderate damages. The role requires a strong customer-service mindset and technical craftsmanship to maintain high-quality repair standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site repairs for various product types with minimal supervision.
• Repair and refinish furniture surfaces, including tables, case pieces, and small corner damages.
• Execute minor rebuilds, surface refinishing, and part replacements.
• Set up and operate spray booths and other repair equipment as needed.
• Maintain repair tools, hardware, and workspace cleanliness.
• Assess product damage and determine the most efficient repair method.
• Collaborate with warehouse and inspection personnel to ensure quality standards.
• Document recurring damage issues and recommend preventive measures.
• Accurately report unresolved or incomplete repairs.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in furniture repair, restoration, or related trade preferred.
• Strong understanding of materials such as wood, leather, and upholstery.
• Hands-on repair skills, including sanding, painting, refinishing, and hardware replacement.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong customer communication and time management abilities.
• Ability to lift and maneuver furniture and tools as required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site service calls.
