US Plant Controller | Shelbyville, TN
We are supporting a leading global company in the automotive manufacturing sector in the search for an experienced Plant Controller for its operations in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
This is a key finance leadership position within the plant, combining financial controlling, manufacturing cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting and close partnership with plant management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial controlling activities across plant functions, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and reporting requirements.
- Partner closely with Plant Management to monitor KPIs, budgets and operational performance.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Analyze production variances, including material and labor costs, identifying root causes and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor plant expenditures and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Support accounting activities, including depreciation, provisions and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local accounting requirements and reporting standards.
- Support year end audit preparation and interaction with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision making.
- Coordinate finance activities and collaborate effectively with cross functional teams within the plant.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in Financial Controlling or a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong analytical, financial management and problem solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VBA Macros, and PowerPoint.
- Strong decision making skills, including experience in business case preparation and strategic coordination.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across different plant functions.
Additional Qualifications Considered a Plus
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- International experience within Finance.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
- Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Experience working with external auditors.
- Knowledge of internal control frameworks and Internal Audit activities.
- Proficiency in OneStream and other Business Intelligence tools.
