What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environment Health Safety Lead position at Taskforce?
We are seeking an experienced and strategic EHS Lead to oversee and drive Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will play a key part in promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence through effective EHS management systems.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS strategies aligned with organizational goals, operational growth, and evolving regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and environmental responsibility across all levels of the organization.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Lead EHS training initiatives and awareness programs to strengthen employee engagement, risk awareness, and adherence to safety standards throughout the facility.
- Oversee incident response activities, conduct investigations and root cause analysis, and ensure the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurrence.
- Identify workplace hazards and environmental aspects, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate cross-functionally to develop preventive measures and maintain full compliance with EHS regulations and standards.
- Manage environmental compliance programs related to hazardous waste, emissions, wastewater, and spill prevention. Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives aimed at improving environmental performance.
- Establish and monitor EHS KPIs, analyze performance trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the EHS team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles
• At least 3 years in a leadership position
• Previous experience within manufacturing or automotive environments is strongly preferred
Certifications
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards is required
• Internal Auditor certification is highly valued
• Additional EHS certifications are considered a plus
