Task Force Tips, LLC. is an established manufacturer of firefighting equipment based in Valparaiso, IN. Our continuous improvement process ensures we help first responders save lives and protect property more safely and effectively than the day before. TFT is part of Madison Industries, one of the largest and most successful privately held companies in the world.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment, is detail-oriented and self-driven Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing team. Will be responsible for managing journal entries, financial reporting, and accounts receivable. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while maintaining confidentiality.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
- Completing monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identifying any corrections needed.
- Generate timely financial reports to support decision-making processes.
- Manage accounts receivable and following up with customers on overdue payments, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving payment disputes.
- Assist with annual audit fieldwork preparation by gathering the necessary information and documentation.
- Application of daily cash receipts to customer accounts and depositing of checks received to the bank.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager and CFO.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Prior experience working in manufacturing or distribution standard costing environment a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Self-driven with a growth mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
