Inside Sales Associate

Tart Lumber Company, Inc., a locally owned, full-service lumber and building material company seeks a full-time Inside Sales Associate in Sterling, Virginia.

We specialize in high-quality lumber, millwork, windows, doors, and other building materials for contractors and homeowners. If you enjoy helping customers, like staying busy, and want to expand your knowledge of the construction and building materials industry, this could be a great fit.

No building materials experience? No problem. We’re more than willing to train someone highly motivated with a customer-focused personality.

WHAT WE OFFER.

• This is a full-time position working in-store Monday–Friday from 7am–4pm and one or two Saturdays a month from 10am–2pm.

WHAT YOU’LL DO.

• Assist contractors and clients with product selection and placing orders.
• Provide accurate pricing, quotes, and product availability.
• Develop working knowledge of lumber, plywood, trim, doors, windows, and related building materials.
• Build strong relationships with repeat customers through your excellent customer service.
• Call on long-term current customers to grow sales.
• Coordinate with the yard and delivery teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
• Use sales and inventory software to enter orders and track product details.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.

• Experience in building materials, hardware, retail sales, or construction supply is helpful, but not required. We will gladly train someone eager to learn and with a positive attitude and team-focused mindset.
• You are service oriented, customer focused, and enjoy building relationships.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while staying organized in a fast-paced environment.
• You are comfortable using computers and learning sales/inventory systems.
• Ability to read and take measurements using a tape measure required.
