Job Title: Estimating Engineer– Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers
Company Overview:
We are a specialized manufacturer of shell and tube heat exchangers serving industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power, HVAC, and food processing. Our engineering and fabrication expertise allows us to deliver efficient, reliable, and custom-built thermal solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support our sales and engineering teams by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for customer inquiries and tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review customer inquiries, specifications, datasheets, and drawings to understand technical and commercial requirements.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for shell and tube heat exchangers, including materials, labor, fabrication, testing, painting, and delivery.
- Interpret ASME, TEMA, and client standards to ensure compliance in design and costing.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to obtain accurate input on material and labor costs.
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals within required timelines.
- Analyze design alternatives and suggest cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Maintain updated databases of material prices, subcontractor rates, and historical project costs.
- Support sales during client negotiations and clarify cost breakdowns when required.
- Participate in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in estimating or proposal engineering, preferably in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, or fabrication industries.
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, TEMA, and relevant design codes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Experience using estimation and costing tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, or specialized estimation software).
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and time management skills.
- Good communication skills for coordination with clients, suppliers, and internal departments.
