Facility Maintenance Technician III

Job Description Summary:

Salary: $26.02 - $39.04 per hour

The Facility Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining and upkeep of water district grounds, buildings, and structures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, remodeling work, other general maintenance, etc., on TRWD buildings, structures, and grounds
• Responsible for the start to finish of assigned projects including, but not limited to, project planning, design, estimating labor and materials, and leading work crews
• Perform data entry for work orders and for timekeeping
• Transporting materials and equipment for maintenance projects
• Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean work environment
• Interact and coordinate with other TRWD personnel
• May supervisor and direct the work of others to include performance evaluations and discipline
• After hours Emergency Response
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Report maintenance or structural issues to department supervisor
• Participate in applicable condition assessments
• Maintain familiarity with strategic district levels of service
• Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts
• Identify training budget needs
• Performance review alignment

• Perform other duties as required

Required Experience:

• Eight (8) years of experience in facility maintenance, remodeling, or a related field
• Four (4) years progression of leadership experience
• Ability to read and interpret building blueprints
• Ability to estimate labor and material costs for assigned projects
• Prior experience leading projects from start to finish with limited guidance from a supervisor
• Proficiency with software programs such as Excel and Microsoft Word

Desired Experience:

• Experience in a specialized field/trade of the building industry
• Four (4) years of field experience with direct supervision by a journeyman or master in a related field

Required Education/Certification/License:

• Valid Texas driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED

Desired Education/Certification/License:

• Associate degree in related field
• State of Texas trade license in related discipline
• CDL

• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee typically resides within a computer workroom, pump station office and/or out in the field exposing the employee to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This position will also work in confined spaces, on water ways such as lakes or rivers, and at various heights.
