Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree or equivalent child support experience.
Four (4) years experience in full-time child support program or closely related experience.
Additional education, including master's degrees, will substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Must have knowledge and skills for using a computer for word processing and data entry and retrieval.
Must have extensive skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
Must have advanced or expert knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the child support field and TXCSES, the state child support computer system.
Must have extensive knowledge of investigative practices and techniques as well as negotiating and interviewing skills.
Knowledge of both County and State Child Support Policies.
May serve as a Notary Public.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, hear, keyboard, lift below the waist, lift between waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, tolerate noise, pull, push, reach, see color, sit, talk, use his/her hands, walk, and work with others. Incumbent will face the possibility of upset clients.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs ombudsman duties for the DRO pursuant to contract # 10-C0017 in adherence to the 1998 Texas Ombudsman Act. Responds to complex inquiries and complaints, resolves issues, and operates to protect citizens against violation of their rights. Assesses the validity of complaints against the IV-D program with impartiality.
- Assigns and monitors work of assigned staff. Provides training and technical assistance to office staff.
- Assesses child support cases to determine appropriate action. Performs all necessary administrative enforcement.
- Explains Child Support Program policies, procedures, and regulations to customers. Conducts and oversees detailed in-office investigations to locate parties, verify employment and determine assets.
- Researches case information on the Texas Child Support Enforcement System (TXCSES). Maintains current knowledge of child support policies and procedures, Texas family law, federal regulations and other states' IV-D regulations.
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures including but not limited to applicable security and safety rules, regulations and standards.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
