ASSOCIATE CIVIL CLERK III - County Clerk

Summary

Perform assigned clerical work such as filing Attorney's new lawsuits and issuing citations or any paper necessary for the progression of their cases. This work will be varied and will involve independent analysis, problem solving and clerical skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Files, dates, and organizes codes and jacket papers.
  • Accepts electronic and paper filings for new and existing cases.
  • Inputs and prints information from the computer system, issues and distributes to the appropriate staff.
  • Assembles jackets with proper documents and files with court clerks.
  • Explains office procedures and requirements to the general public and directs them to the appropriate staff.
  • Answers phone inquiries and direct calls to attorneys as appropriate.
  • Numbers jackets, corrects print-outs, opens and sorts mail.
  • Performs name searches on the computer, retrieves old jackets for the general public and sets up jackets for new lawsuits.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have one to three (1-3) years experience.
  • Must be familiar with the use of a desktop computer and proficient in data entry, keyboarding, and navigating computer applications.
  • Must be bondable.

Physical Demands And Work Environment & Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to walk, bend, stoop, push, pull and lift.
