Role Description
POSITION TITLE:
High School Registrar
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must hold an associate’s degree or have completed a minimum of 48 semester hours of study at a regionally accredited institution of higher education or have successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education approve / WORKKEYS test
- At least two years office experience
- Computer experience required
- Demonstrated aptitude and competence for the assigned responsibilities.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
JOB GOALS:
- To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
- To adjust and implement constant changes involving district and state polices.
- To maintain student records at the school level by processing student enrollment, transfer, and withdrawal requests in a timely manner.

PERFORMANCE RESOBISIBILITES:
- Must be able to interact with a diverse range of formal and informal contacts with courtesy and patience.
- Requires sufficient human relations skills to convey a positive image of the school, school performance, programs, policies, and procedures to new students and parents.
- Requires the ability to maintain the privacy of records and information related to students, staff, and parents.
- Requires the ability to interpret, apply, and communicate District policies and procedures and Alabama State Department Codes covering registration, records, articulation, and graduation.
- Assist returning and new students with enrollment in accordance with District policies and procedures.
- Properly withdraws students in an effective, efficient, and professional manner from the electronic system as well as completes and maintains all hardcopy records.
- Maintains accurate attendance records and submits monthly, as well as year-end, reports to the Central Office.
- Assist with calling absentees, checking students in and out, and other tasks as assigned.
- Assist counselor(s) with records of grades, transcripts, withdrawn students, graduates, grade report averages, and class rank.
- Requires well-developed knowledge of and skill at using computer-aided office productivity software and special applications for storing and retrieving student information.
- Requires record keeping, data entry, file management, general office, and clerical skills.
- Maintains a regular filing system, as well as a set of locked confidential files, and processes incoming correspondence as instructed.
- Become proficient in District approved student information system and enrollment system.
- Requires sufficient writing skills to prepare routine, yet professional correspondence and reports.
- Work is performed in a high school office environment subject to constant interruptions.
- Performs duties of Office Paraprofessional when deemed necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Principal or designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
EVALUATION:
Twelve-month position in accordance with the Board’s salary schedule.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Tarrant city Board of Education policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
This is a non-exempt role.
