Overview
Tarpstop is looking for a Service Center Manger to oversee all aspects of the service center's operations, with a focus on meeting sales targets, delivering high-quality products, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Service Center Manager plays a critical role in driving the profitability and success of the center while representing the company’s values and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage the overall performance of the service center, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Ensure all products meet or exceed customer quality standards through regular in-process inspections and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment both inside and outside the facility.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance to ensure it meets company standards.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and standards consistently, initiating corrective actions when necessary.
Company Representation
- Act as the primary representative of the service center, embodying the company's Mission, Vision, and Core Values in all interactions with employees, customers, and the community.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing timely and accurate service.
- Address customer inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
Production Management
- Analyze work orders, production schedules, and other reports to create production estimates and schedule accordingly.
- Ensure accurate work order processing within the Company ERP system.
- Understand and utilize the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to monitor, optimize, and enhance the service center’s performance.
- Drive the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the service center.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures when targets are not met.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Maintains a holistic perspective of the broader Company operations in order to provide better support to the Company’s overall success.
- Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure alignment between production capacity and customer demand.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery timelines and project status.
- Coordinate with the Shipping & Logistics to ensure that inventory levels of manufactured parts are adequate to department operations, preventing operational delays.
- Partner with HR to manage employee performance, training, and development.
- Conduct performance reviews, enforce discipline, and uphold company policies consistently.
Work Environment Maintenance
- Promote and maintain a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
- Ensure the shop’s cleanliness and maintenance meet company expectations.
- Regularly maintain and repair equipment, and coordinate with third party repair services as needed.
Training & Development
- Ensure new hires receive adequate training for their roles.
- Conduct employee reviews and set goals and expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience managing a facility where service excellence is critical to success.
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Strong proven problem-solving abilities with a focus on leading by example.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and manage personnel.
- Strong delegation skills with a focus on achieving results through department managers.
- Previous experience with manufacturing machinery, including maintenance.
- Previous experience with ERP systems, and the ability to learn the company ERP system - NetSuite.
- Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic arithmetic with fractions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in relevant production processes.
- Ability to work overtime as needed to facilitate business needs, as well as willingness to be accessible to the team as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to individually lift, pull, and drag materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, stand, sit, kneel, and perform repetitive movements for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for prolonged periods.
Work Environment
- Office-based with occasional travel required for meetings, training, and site visits.
- Working on the shop floor and at a computer.
- An on-site position working primarily at a desk or at the sales counter.
- Other work areas include the floor (inspecting quality, performance, etc.), the yard (lot inspections, etc.) and the sales room (inventory, etc.).
- Working on site and full-time are essential functions of the position.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
