Position Summary

Tarheel Paving & Asphalt is seeking a dependable and safety-minded Operations Support Driver to assist with the daily transportation and operational needs of our crews. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, staying active, and contributing to the success of our field operations without the physical demands of a traditional construction role.

Every day is different, and this role is essential in helping our crews stay productive and our projects run efficiently.

Responsibilities

· Transport employees to and from job sites safely and on time.

· Operate a pilot vehicle for oversized equipment and designated loads.

· Drive a water truck when needed to support paving and grading operations.

· Deliver tools, materials, and supplies to job sites.

· Assist with moving vehicles and equipment between job sites, the shop, and the asphalt plant.

· Run company errands as needed throughout the day.

· Help maintain clean and organized company vehicles.

· Perform light labor or miscellaneous tasks as requested by supervisors.

· Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

· Follow all company safety policies and traffic laws.

Qualifications

· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required depending on assignments).

· Ability to safely operate company vehicles.

· Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

· Good communication skills.

· Willingness to assist wherever needed.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to enter and exit company vehicles throughout the day.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
