Position Summary: 

TARGAN is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to play a critical role in driving insights and decision-making across our organization. This role goes beyond traditional FP&A: the successful candidate will actively engage with our R&D and commercial teams to gain a detailed understanding of cost structures, business drivers, and the underlying economics of our operations. They will lead the budgeting process while also serving as a key partner in modeling and evaluating new business opportunities and building financial forecasts.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional quantitative ability with strong communication skills—capable not only of building sophisticated financial models in Excel but also of distilling complex data into actionable takeaways and presenting recommendations to senior leadership. This role is particularly well-suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, international environment, enjoys research, and is energized by solving new challenges.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with R&D and commercial teams to analyze cost drivers, unit economics, and business performance.
  • Lead the company’s budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial and business models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Distill data into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-level presentations.
  • Conduct financial research to support international expansion efforts, including market entry analysis, cost structures, and revenue models across geographies.
  • Provide strategic analysis and business intelligence to leadership, supporting both near-term operational decisions and long-term planning.
  • Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial insights with company strategy and execution.

Key Competencies & Skills

  • Proven ability to engage with technical and commercial teams to understand and analyze business drivers.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation—with the ability to distill complex analyses into actionable insights for leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, solve unfamiliar problems, and develop frameworks for new business challenges.
  • Experience analyzing businesses across multiple geographies a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing, biotech, or animal health preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced Finance, Economics or Business degree preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, investment research, private equity/venture capital analysis, or FP&A at a high-growth, investor-backed company.
