What You’ll Do
- Manage full-cycle accounting activities for assigned business units, including AP, AR, and general ledger functions.
- Oversee vendor and customer setups to ensure accurate records and terms.
- Perform daily cash flow management and forecasting.
- Handle monthly reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Partner with operations to resolve AR issues and correct coding errors.
- Prepare credit applications, budgets, forecasts, and weekly GAAP-compliant sales reports.
- Assist with State and Federal tax filings and audits.
- Maintain item pricing and tax structures in ERP systems (we use ACCPAC).
- Provide mentorship to staff accountants and accounting reps during month-end closes.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes.
- Assist with external financial audits and tax return preparation.
- Cross-train on processes for other business units and help onboard new employees to our systems and practices.
- Tackle ad-hoc reporting and special projects when needed.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Solid knowledge of accrual accounting and multi-currency environments.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with ERP systems, especially ACCPAC or similar.
- Background working with manufacturing companies.
- Previous experience supporting audits and budgets.
- CPA certification (or being on the CPA track).
- Familiarity with GAAP compliance and financial reporting standards.
