What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Prep position at Taranto's Pizzeria?
Taranto’s is a family-owned pizzeria opening our brand-new Delaware kitchen this September. If you love the rhythm of a real pizza line — dough, sauce, cheese, out the window — and you want to work somewhere that treats you like a person, keep reading.
What You’ll Do
- Prep dough, sauce, toppings, and menu items to Taranto’s recipes
- Build pizzas fast and clean — target is one pizza every 5 minutes without cutting corners on quality
- Operate the oven, prep station, and kitchen equipment safely
- Rotate stock, track fridge temps, and keep dates legal and tight
- Keep your station spotless during and after your shift
- Complete daily 7shifts digital checklists — we make it easy, you just follow
What You Bring
- Willingness to learn — we’ll train the right person even without pizza experience
- 1 year of food service preferred (not required)
- Solid knife skills or willingness to learn fast
- Team player attitude — the line only works when everyone helps everyone
- Able to stand for a full shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a warm kitchen
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (Spanish a plus)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Safety certification (or willing to get it — we help)
What You Get
- $15/hr starting for 18 (higher for experienced pizza cooks — let’s talk)
- $12.50/hr for team members under 18 (great first real job)

Schedule
Mostly nights and weekends. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights are peak — we need you those nights. Some day prep shifts available. Minimum 2 shifts/week to hold the role. 30–40 hours available for full-timers.
