Gateway on Cullen Student Living Apartments is hiring a Porter in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
- Keep the property clean and free of trash and debris
- Pick up trash around buildings, parking areas, and common spaces
- Clean breezeways, stairwells, and other shared areas
- Maintain dumpster and trash areas
- Assist the maintenance team with light tasks when needed
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to management
- Help keep the community neat and welcoming for residents
Requirements
- Clean and remove debris from walkways, parking lots, and outdoor areas.
- Empty trash cans regularly.
- Maintain tools and equipment; ensure safe and proper use.
- Assist with snow and ice removal (if applicable).
- Support maintenance staff with light tasks as needed.
- Inspect vacated units and create a punch list of needed repairs.
- Paint walls, patch holes, and touch up surfaces.
- Replace or repair appliances, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and hardware as needed.
- Test and ensure all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are functioning.
- Install blinds, doors, smoke detectors, and other fixtures.
- Communicate with property management and maintenance staff about unit status and timelines.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and request materials as needed.
- Ensure units meet cleanliness and safety standards before move-in.
- Turn Season Availability Requirement: Selected candidate will be required to work daily for approximately 20–30 consecutive days during the student housing Turn season, including weekends and extended hours as needed.
