What We’re Looking For
Tara Manufacturing is seeking a highly detail-oriented Order Processing Representative to support the accurate entry and verification of customer orders. This role plays a critical part in ensuring orders are properly reviewed, documented, and entered into company systems before they move into production.
This position focuses on verifying purchase orders, confirming product specifications and measurements, reviewing supporting documentation, and entering orders with a high level of accuracy. The Order Processing Representative works closely with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), production teams, and internal departments to ensure orders are correct, complete, and ready for manufacturing.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-driven, and comfortable working with technical order information such as measurements, diagrams, and product specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies early to prevent production delays or rework.
Work Environment
This position is on-site in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama within a manufacturing environment. The role works closely with customer service, order management, and production teams to ensure orders are entered accurately and production schedules remain on track.
Professional office presence and regular interaction with internal departments is expected. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive purchase orders from Customer Service Representatives and verify order completeness.
- Enter customer orders accurately into the order management system.
- Confirm pricing, product specifications, and quantities match approved quotes.
- Review customer-provided order forms, measurements, and diagrams for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure seam locations, measurements, and product specifications are properly documented.
- Identify discrepancies or missing information and coordinate corrections with Customer Service Representatives.
- Verify supporting documentation such as diagrams, notes, or special instructions.
- Ensure orders are properly prepared before being released to production.
- Flag potential production issues early to prevent delays or rework.
- Communicate with internal teams regarding order requirements or corrections.
- Maintain organized order documentation and records.
- Follow company order processing procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of administrative, customer service, order entry, or order processing experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience working with order entry systems or ERP platforms is a plus.
- Ability to review technical order information such as measurements, diagrams, and specifications.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
