Duties
- Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using proper cleaning procedures.
- Operate dishwashing machinery safely and effectively, adhering to all food safety sanitizing protocols.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision.
- Support the bussing team by clearing tables and transporting dirty dishware to the dishwashing station promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces, following sanitation standards.
- Follow all kitchen health and safety regulations to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots or crates with proper technique to prevent injury.
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or commercial sinks is beneficial.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy items regularly throughout shifts.
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards and following food safety protocols.
