Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled cabinet finisher to join our team. This role is responsible for prepping, spraying, and finishing custom cabinetry components using professional finishing equipment and materials. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, understands finish quality requirements, and works efficiently in a custom production environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Prepare cabinets, doors, drawers, and millwork components for finishing (sanding, cleaning, tack cloth, etc.)
· Mix, match, and apply stains, paints, clear coats, and specialty finishes according to specifications.
· Operate spray booths and HVLP/air-assisted spray systems safely and effectively.
· Ensure consistent finish quality that meets Tapley's standards.
· Inspect finished components and perform necessary touch-ups or corrections.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Follow production schedules and collaborate with the shop supervisor and production team.
· Properly store and handle chemicals, coatings, and materials per safety guidelines.
· Conduct routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal spray performance.
Qualifications:
· Must have a valid drivers license.
· Experience in spray finishing, cabinetry finishing, automotive painting, or related finishing work preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
· Knowledge of finishing materials, mixing ratios, and application techniques.
· Ability to stand, lift, move, and work on the production floor for extended periods.
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
· Willingness to learn Tapley's standards, processes, and finishing methods.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift and carry loads of wood and tools as needed to complete jobs.
· Prolonged periods standing and building.
· Visual acuity necessary to measure and assemble furniture and to read plans.
Hourly Wage DOE and Tapley offers a generous benefits package that includes health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, profit-sharing, and 401K.
Hours of Work: Tapley operates a flex schedule and desired 40 hour work week schedule will be mutually agreed upon by employee and supervisor. Occasional overtime will be dependent upon production needs.
